Rank Overview:
The Initiate is the first rank of Blacksky membership and the entry point into a Chapter. Having accepted an invitation to join Blacksky and completed the required registration process, an Initiate has formally entered the Imperium and begun their development within the organization.
At this rank, members are expected to integrate with their Chapter, learn Blacksky’s culture and structure, become familiar with its members, and establish themselves through consistent participation. Initiates are members of Blacksky, but they are still new members learning what it means to be part of the organization and demonstrating their ability to contribute positively to the Chapter around them.
Advancement to Legionary is not automatic or based solely upon time served. An Initiate must establish trust, reliability, participation, and familiarity within their Chapter before being recognized as an established member. Additional advancement requirements may vary between Chapters. Refer to your Chapter Codex or speak directly with your Marshal for additional expectations and requirements.

Rank Overview:
The Legionary is the established membership rank of a Blacksky Chapter and represents the backbone of the Imperium’s day-to-day activity, culture, and strength. Having progressed beyond the introductory stage of Initiate, a Legionary has demonstrated their reliability, participation, and ability to contribute positively to the Chapter around them.
At this rank, members are expected to maintain their involvement within the Chapter, support its activities and growth, uphold Blacksky standards, and help strengthen the environment into which future members are introduced. Legionaries are trusted to represent Blacksky to prospective members and may identify, vet, and invite suitable Prospects to join the organization.
Legionary is not simply a transitional rank on the path toward leadership. It is the primary established membership rank within Blacksky, and members may remain Legionaries for as long as they wish without any expectation that they pursue command. Those who demonstrate leadership potential and desire greater responsibility may distinguish themselves for future advancement to Enforcer.
Legionaries become eligible to request an approved BSK gamertag in accordance with Blacksky’s gamertag policy.

Rank Overview:
Enforcers serve as the officer corps of a Chapter and operate directly beneath the Marshal. They are responsible for maintaining standards, reinforcing discipline, guiding members, and ensuring the Chapter remains stable, active, and organized.
An Enforcer is expected to lead by example. They assist the Marshal with recruitment and Chapter operations, guide Initiates through their early development within Blacksky, mentor Legionaries, help resolve routine internal issues, and identify members who demonstrate leadership potential. Enforcers are responsible for monitoring the integration and development of Initiates and recommending those who are ready for advancement to Legionary to the Chapter Marshal.
Enforcers also support Chapter operations by assisting with meetings, events, communication, recruitment, and member oversight. This rank marks the transition from established membership into Chapter leadership. Authority at this level is earned through consistency, reliability, sound judgment, and the ability to uphold order without compromising the culture of the Chapter.

Rank Overview:
The Marshal is the commanding authority of a Blacksky Chapter. They are responsible for the growth, stability, discipline, and long-term health of the Chapter under their command. Marshals oversee all Chapter operations, maintain member activity and cohesion, guide leadership development, and ensure Blacksky standards are upheld at every level.
The Marshal holds final Chapter-level authority over member advancement. They oversee the development of Initiates alongside their Enforcers, review recommendations for advancement, and authorize the promotion of qualified Initiates to Legionary. They are also responsible for developing Enforcers into future leaders and maintaining a culture capable of sustaining long-term growth.
Beyond member development, a Marshal is expected to preserve order within the Chapter itself. They organize meetings, events, recruitment efforts, and communication while resolving disputes and maintaining operational stability amongst their members.
A successful Marshal does not simply manage a Chapter—they build one capable of enduring, expanding, developing its own leadership, and eventually producing the foundation for future Chapters of the Imperium.
