BLACKSKY EDICTS

The Rules of the Blacksky Imperium
Established January 24, 2026 | Reconstructed November 2026

Preamble — The Standard of Blacksky

The Blacksky Imperium was not built upon rank alone, nor does its strength rest solely upon those who command it. It endures through the conduct, loyalty, and unity of those who stand beneath its banner.

The Edicts establish the standards expected of every member of Blacksky, from the newest Initiate to the highest authority of the Imperium. Rank does not grant exemption, seniority does not excuse misconduct, and personal differences do not outweigh the interests of the community.

Blacksky recognizes that its members come from different backgrounds, hold different beliefs, and carry responsibilities beyond the Imperium. These differences are respected. What is required in return is a shared commitment to maintaining an environment where members can enjoy gaming, build lasting friendships, and contribute to something greater than themselves.

The Edicts are not intended to govern every private conversation or personal disagreement. They exist to protect the integrity of Blacksky and establish the boundaries of acceptable conduct within its community.

All who bear the banner of Blacksky are bound by these Edicts.

Edict I — Respect and Conduct

Every member of Blacksky shall treat fellow members, leadership, guests, and allied individuals with basic respect, regardless of rank, tenure, or personal standing.

Disagreements are inevitable within any community. Members are not required to share the same opinions, maintain personal friendships, or agree with every decision made by leadership. They are, however, expected to conduct themselves with maturity when interacting with others.

Harassment, bullying, threats, deliberate humiliation, discriminatory abuse, and repeated personal attacks have no place within the Imperium.

Leadership is held to the same standard. Authority carries responsibility, not immunity from accountability. No individual may use their position to intimidate, exploit, or deliberately mistreat another member.

Respect is not measured by agreement. It is demonstrated through conduct.

Edict II — Membership and Activity

Blacksky recognizes that responsibilities beyond gaming must take precedence when necessary. Employment, family, education, health, and personal obligations are legitimate reasons for reduced participation.

Members are nevertheless expected to maintain reasonable involvement with the community and communicate extended absences through the appropriate channels.

Members anticipating a prolonged absence should notify their leadership so that their standing may be addressed through the established Reserve system. Reserve Honorable recognizes members who properly communicate their absence, while Reserve Derelict addresses unexplained or neglected participation obligations under the applicable doctrine.

Appearing offline on Xbox is not, by itself, evidence of inactivity or misconduct. Membership participation is evaluated through actual engagement and communication, not merely an individual's displayed online status.

Blacksky does not demand constant availability. It expects reasonable communication and accountability.

Edict III — Disputes and Grievances

Personal disputes shall not be used to disrupt Blacksky's official spaces, gaming sessions, or community activities.

Members are encouraged to resolve ordinary disagreements privately and respectfully whenever doing so is appropriate and safe. When resolution cannot be reached, the matter should be brought before the appropriate leadership.

Complaints involving a direct superior may be escalated to a higher authority without requiring the member to confront the individual involved.

Members may also approach the Senate to communicate concerns, offer feedback, or seek advisory consideration. The Senate serves in an advisory capacity and does not independently exercise disciplinary or command authority.

No member shall be threatened, punished, or subjected to retaliation merely for submitting a genuine complaint in good faith.

The Imperium does not prohibit disagreement. It prohibits the deliberate use of disagreement to create disorder.

Edict IV — Religion, Politics, and Divisive Subjects

Blacksky welcomes individuals from different religious, political, and cultural backgrounds. Membership does not require adherence to any particular belief or ideology.

However, religious and political debates are prohibited within official Blacksky public discussions and open Xbox party chats conducted as community activities.

Members who wish to discuss these subjects privately may do so in consensual conversations outside official community discussions, provided those exchanges do not become harassment, recruitment for ideological causes, or a source of disruption within Blacksky.

No member may pressure others to participate in such discussions or target another individual because of their beliefs.

The Imperium does not seek to control personal convictions. It requires that those convictions not become a source of division within its ranks.

Edict V — Representation of Blacksky

The Blacksky name, its BSK designation, and its official insignia represent the collective identity of the Imperium.

Only members holding the rank of Legionary or above may request authorization to incorporate the BSK designation into their Xbox gamertag, PlayStation ID, Activision ID, or other gaming username.

Such changes must receive approval through the appropriate Blacksky leadership and established naming process before implementation. Initiates are not authorized to adopt the BSK designation in their gaming usernames.

Changing a gamertag to include BSK is not a general requirement of membership, except where an applicable rank standard specifically requires it.

Members representing Blacksky publicly are expected to conduct themselves in a manner consistent with these Edicts. Unauthorized impersonation of Blacksky leadership, misuse of official insignia, or deliberate misrepresentation of one's rank or authority is prohibited.

To bear the Blacksky name is to represent more than oneself.

Edict VI — Loyalty and Multi-Clanning

Membership in Blacksky carries an expectation of organizational loyalty.

Members holding the rank of Legionary or above may not simultaneously maintain membership or formal affiliation with another clan, guild, or organized competitive gaming community operating as a separate membership organization.

This restriction does not prohibit ordinary friendships, participation in public gaming groups, casual matchmaking, or gaming with individuals outside Blacksky.

Guests and non-members are welcome to participate in permitted community activities, provided they respect Blacksky's rules and do not interfere with its operations.

Recruiting Blacksky members into competing organizations, deliberately undermining its chapters, or using access to the community to solicit defections is prohibited.

Loyalty does not require isolation. It requires that membership in Blacksky be undertaken in good faith.

Edict VII — Personal Relationships and Conflicts of Interest

Blacksky does not prohibit friendships, romantic relationships, or personal associations between its members.

However, personal relationships must not be used to influence promotions, disciplinary decisions, appointments, recruitment, or other matters requiring impartial judgment.

Members whose relationships create an actual or reasonably foreseeable conflict of interest in leadership decisions must disclose that conflict to the appropriate authority.

No leader may grant preferential treatment, withhold opportunities, or misuse their authority because of a personal relationship.

Relationship disputes are private matters unless they result in harassment, misconduct, disruption, or interference with Blacksky operations.

Adults may not use Blacksky's official spaces, activities, or membership relationships to pursue romantic or sexual involvement with minors. Sexual exploitation, grooming, and inappropriate conduct toward minors are strictly prohibited.

The Imperium respects personal relationships while maintaining the integrity of its responsibilities.

Edict VIII — Community Spaces and Communication

The Blacksky website serves as the Imperium's official institutional platform for documentation, announcements, membership records, and formal organizational communication.

Xbox Live serves as the primary platform for direct member communication and gaming operations.

Discord and other external messaging services may be used voluntarily for supplementary communication, but they are not recognized as official Blacksky institutional platforms.

Members are expected to respect the purpose of official spaces, follow applicable platform requirements, and avoid conduct that deliberately disrupts gaming sessions, organized operations, or community discussions.

Members must not knowingly circulate false official announcements, impersonate authorized leadership, or present unofficial communications as binding Blacksky decisions.

Official records, directives, and proclamations derive their authority from the Imperium's recognized institutional processes, not from informal conversations on external platforms.

Edict IX — Privacy and Personal Boundaries

Members shall respect the privacy and personal boundaries of others.

Sharing another individual's private information, confidential correspondence, personal photographs, or identifying details without appropriate authorization is prohibited when done to harass, intimidate, expose, or otherwise harm that individual.

Members may not pressure others to disclose personal information, participate in unwanted conversations, or maintain contact after reasonable boundaries have been established.

Confidential leadership discussions, protected membership records, and sensitive internal matters must not be deliberately disclosed to unauthorized individuals.

This Edict does not prohibit good-faith reporting of misconduct, seeking assistance, or providing information to appropriate authorities.

Trust is earned through conduct and preserved through discretion.

Edict X — Integrity of the Imperium

No member shall knowingly undermine Blacksky through deliberate deception, abuse of entrusted access, sabotage of community operations, or malicious interference with its organizational structure.

Members may question decisions, recommend reforms, and express disagreement through appropriate channels. Constructive criticism is not disloyalty.

However, impersonating authority, falsifying official records, knowingly spreading fabricated accusations, or deliberately organizing disruption against Blacksky's operations constitutes misconduct.

Access to official resources, records, and administrative functions shall be used only for authorized purposes.

The Imperium welcomes scrutiny and improvement. It does not tolerate the deliberate corruption of its institutions.

Closing Declaration — Beneath One Banner

These Edicts establish the common standard of conduct throughout the Blacksky Imperium.

They apply to members regardless of rank, office, chapter, legion, or pillar. Individuals entrusted with authority bear an additional responsibility to uphold the standards they are expected to enforce.

Violations may result in corrective or disciplinary action under Blacksky's established governing procedures. The nature of any action shall depend upon the circumstances, severity, and applicable doctrine.

The Edicts do not replace the Imperium's rank structure, judicial procedures, membership designations, or specialized organizational doctrines. Those matters remain governed by their respective authorities.

Blacksky does not demand perfection from those who join its ranks. It demands accountability, respect, and a willingness to uphold the community they have chosen to represent.

One Imperium. One Standard. Beneath One Banner.
